"Remember when I was afraid
of the Dentist?" That is what my daughter said to me as we
walked into Smiles 4 Children for her 6 month check up today.
At 5 (and a HALF), this is her 3rd visit to the dentist. She
walked in with no fear, no trepidation.
Their marquee says it all, Smiles4Children is Dentistry for
Children. Located at 1134 N Rolling Road near the corner of
Rolling Road and Route 40 in Catonsville, just down the street from
the Double TT Diner, the combination dental/orthodontic office is a
Dental Haven for kids.
If you, like me, have horrible memories of going to the dentist as a
child, this is the place to start your kids off on the right tooth!
We have never had to wait for more than a few minutes on the way in,
but sometimes it has been hard to get my daughter OUT afterwards!
The arcade and the two level play house with a slide help to
entertain waiting siblings or kids as parents check in or out with
the friendly and competent admin staff.
The entire staff from the admin folks, to the hygenists, to the
clinical staff and the dentists themselves have an obvious love for
kids. They are patient, kind and efficient. The whole experience is
geared toward making the kids (and parents) feel comfortable. Kids
get their choice of toothbrush color and flouride flavor. Headphones
are provided so they can watch the TV's while getting their
After treatment, each child get their pick of stickers and get to
pick from the prize drawer.
The staff answers questions, interacts with the kids (and parents),
and makes suggestions for better dental hygiene.
